Authorities say the son of a co-creator of the long-running children's show "Barney and Friends" has been arrested for allegedly shooting a Malibu neighbor.
Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Thursday that 27-year-old Patrick Leach was arrested Jan. 9. He is free on $1 million bail.
Whitmore says the neighbor was critically wounded but is expected to survive. Whitmore says the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute.

Leach is the son of Sheryl Leach, co-creator of the popular PBS show about a purple dinosaur who plays and sings with children.
Each episode ends with Barney singing, "I love you, you love me ..."
Selena Gomez and "X Factor" judge Demi Lovato are among the child actors who have appeared on the show over the years.
