Back in 2010, she also told Self Magazine that she faced obstacles forging her career as a natural blonde. “When I started acting, I would go to auditions and they didn’t know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent -- but I had blonde hair,” said Vergara. “It was ignorance: They thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek. The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was, ‘Oh, she’s the hot Latin girl.’ I loved it.” Vergara didn’t stay on the dark side. Earlier this year, she tweeted an Instagram photo of her lighter locks, which some stylists describe as “ecaille,” a golden hair color that’s currently having a major moment in Hollywood.
