Reality star Shayne Lamas has been released from the hospital after her extended stay in the intensive care unit.
News broke on Feb. 10 that Lamas was rushed to the hospital after she suffered internal bleeding and a miscarriage during surgery. Now, the former “Bachelor” star is doing much better and she released a statement, thanking fans for their support.
"Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone," the 28-year-old said in a statement sent to Us Weekly. "I'm out of ICU at Mission Viejo Hospital. I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me."
Her famous father, Lorenzo Lamas, shared a similar sentiment, updating his followers about his daughter’s condition via Twitter.
“@ShayneDahlLamas recovering nicely with @nikrichie in the comfort of their home. Thank you for all the positive energy and support. U rock!”
Her husband Nik Richie revealed that the couple named the baby boy Lamas lost during surgery Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie. She was reportedly 16-weeks pregnant at the time of her miscarriage.
The blonde beauty suffered “massive blood loss,” according to a tweet from her husband, and she endured a setback on Valentine’s Day that sent her back into the ICU. According to Richie, at one point during Lamas’ hospital stay “her heart gave out,” but she was able to recover.
"To everyone out there, please donate blood,” she said in her statement. “You can save a life like mine. In loving memory of my son, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie."
