After many months of speculation, Colombian singer Shakira confirmed baby No. 2 is on the way.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer – finally – broke the news in Cosmopolitan Mexico’s October issue.
“Well, yes, the truth is I am pregnant,” the 37-year-old said, after months of staying quiet.
Rumors of a second pregnancy began to swirl after the singer's World Cup performance at the tournament’s closing ceremony in July, when she was spotted with a small bump and a more conservative outfit than usual.
News outlets in her native Colombia reportedly confirmed that she was three months pregnant, but the singer and her soccer player boyfriend stayed quiet.
Additional speculation about the baby’s gender arose soon after. Raul de Molina, co-host of the popular Univision show, “El Gordo y La Flaca,” (“The Fat Man and the Skinning Woman”) said sources close to the couple said she was expecting a girl.
Shakira did not reveal to the magazine if she would be having a girl or a boy.
Shakira and 27-year-old Pique, who plays for Spanish soccer team Barcelona, have a son, Milan, who turns 2 in January.
Earlier this year, the singer told Latina magazine that she would love to have her own “futbol” team.
