Several members of the "All My Children" cast have agreed to stay on the soap opera when the series ends its run on television and migrates online, the show's star Cameron Mathison revealed Thursday.
Mathison, who has played the role of Ryan Lavery on the ABC series for 13 years, said fans will still be able to follow their favorite characters on the web version, making the announcement on "Good Morning America" just days before the soap's final TV episode airs Sept. 23.
"Just as soaps were very pivotal in the transition from radio to television, they'll be right in the thick of things again in the transition from television to the internet," Mathison said.

Loyal soap followers were dealt a blow in April, when the network announced it was canceling the series after 40 years on TV. ABC also cut the soap opera "One Life to Live" after 42 years on the air.
But hope came in July when the network sold the rights to the beloved shows to the production company Prospect Park, which revealed its intent to carry on the show in a web version.
The daily dramas will pick up the plot line where they left off, on a new TV-focused online network once the soaps finish their broadcast run.

The iconic soaps will be replaced on ABC with lifestyle programs including "The Chew," with hosts including celebrity chef Mario Batali and "The Revolution," hosted by fashion guru Tim Gunn.
