The "Pretty Woman" heartthrob has a new one in his life.
Prolific actor Richard Gere is involved with a Spanish socialite by the name of Alejandra Silva, whose father is the former financial vice president for pro soccer club Real Madrid.
The pair was spotted getting cozy on a yacht off the coast of Acitrezza, Italy, on Monday, soaking up the sun and flashing a little PDA with the 32-year-old Silva sitting on Gere’s lap. They were pictured sharing a kiss.
According to E! News, Gere, 65, and Silva’s romance – while new to the public – has been going strong for about a year.
A friend of Silva told Spain’s ABC the couple has been very private about their relationship and has seen each other several times in the U.S. and Spain.
“They’ve managed to keep it hidden from the press, but all their friends know,” the friend said.
Before their shipboard getaway, the couple made their first public appearance at the 61st Annual Taormina Film Festival in Sicily last week, where the “Officer and a Gentleman” actor received an award.
Gere and Silva’s romance marks his first serious relationship since his split from ex-wife Carey Lowell, 54, in September 2013, after 11 years of marriage. Their divorce has not been fully settled.
The actor was previously married to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995.
Silva is divorced from Govid Friedland, with whom she has a son, Albert.
