R.Evolución Latina's "Choreographer's Festival"

R.Evolución Latina is a nonprofit organization comprised mostly of Latino Broadway stars who organize free after-school programs and activities and bring children dancers from Peru to work with their counterparts in New York City. Their new initiative, the "Choreographer’s Festival," will bring children from predominantly Latino and African American neighborhoods who have attended other programs back to learn the aesthetics of dance through a cultural exchange. Their international guests: Peruvian Dance Company D1, whose performers, discovered by dancer Vania Macías, were once homeless children living in the city of Ventanilla, Peru, and once danced for money on the side of the street.
