Respect is due when you've delivered a baby prince who also happens to be the future king of England. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that one gynecologist should also be called “Sir.” READ: Another Royal Baby for Kate Middleton? The Telegraph is reporting that doctor Marcus Setchell, who delivered Prince George in July 2013, was knighted by proud papa Prince William on Tuesday at Buckingham Palace. Now Sir Marcus Setchell is officially a “Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (RVO)," an honor personally bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince George’s great-grandmother. According to US Magazine, Setchell served as a the Queen’s gynecologist since joining the royal household in 1990. In addition, he’s treated other royal relatives, including Sophie, Countess of Wessex, delivering her two children (James, Viscount Severn, 6, and Lady Louise Windsor, 10). The magazine also reports that Setchell was the one to diagnose Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton with hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness that could potentially cause serious complications. Fortunately, Middleton gave birth to "bouncing baby" George and Setchell was on hand to deliver him at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. PHOTOS: Prince George is Christened in Royal Family Gown “Well of course it’s a great honor and it’s very nice that I was able to serve (Queen Elizabeth II) for 24 years and that the culmination of it was that Prince George should be born,” explained Setchell to the Telegraph. “I think even after doing this job for 40 years, every birth is exciting, moving, and lovely.” When asked on his experience with Prince George, Setchell responded, “The job of doing it is just the same pleasurable, lovely experience and one hopes for the couple as well.” READ: Prince William and Kate Middleton's Luxurious 'Second Honeymoon' “He’s got a great future I think,” he added.
