People's Choice Awards: Dakota Johnson wardrobe malfunction, stage rusher, and Vin Diesel's emotional tribute

“Leslie just broke my dress. It’s not like nobody here hasn’t already seen my boobs.”

That’s how Dakota Johnson had to accept her Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress Award for her racy role in "50 Shades of Grey" at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night after her presenter, actress Leslie Mann, accidentally “broke” her top as she handed her the award onstage.

But that was just one of the wild and wacky happenings on the show that unofficially kicks off the televised awards season. Hosted by former “Glee’ star Jane Lynch, the CBS telecast featuring TV shows, movies, and actors who came on top in fan polling, also featured a Kanye West-esque stage grab from an unidentified man promoting another rapper.

As the hosts of “The Talk” took the stage to accept their award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team, a man wearing a red leather jacket grabbed the mic and yelled “Shout out to Kevin Gates, he has an album, Yeezy just jumped over the Jumpman, yessir.”

But “The Talk” uber-host Sharon Osbourne wasn’t having any of it, and kicked the guy in the behind as co-host Sheryl Underwood chased him off yelling he wasn’t going to “pull no Steve Harvey,” referencing the Miss Universe host’s famous on-air flub a few weeks ago where he misidentified Miss Universe.

But the People's Choice Awards, known for its off-beat moments, also had its share of genuine emotion. Actor Vin Diesel teared up when he accepted the dual awards for Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie for “The Furious 7.”

“You know, as I was coming up here, and I always do this, I said, ‘I’m not going to get emotional about winning these awards,’” he said. “And I was cool while I was sitting in my seat and then they handed me two awards, one for favorite action movie and one for favorite film. You all thought that this was your favorite film.”

Diesel then referenced the film’s star Paul Walker, who died in a fiery car crash near the end of the film’s completion, before seguing into a Wiz Khalifa song.

“It’s been a long day without you my friend,” he sang. “And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again.”
