Paz de la Huerta, best known for her role on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," was arraigned on assault and other charges stemming from an altercation with reality TV personality Samantha Swetra.

Prosecutors said on Tuesday, that the Spanish actress told Swetra that she was a "fake actress," prior to attacking her.

Swetra, a fashion buyer, appeared in several episodes of "The City." The show followed Whitney Port, a star of MTV's Los Angeles-based reality hit "The Hills," as she moved to New York to work for designer Diane von Furstenberg.

De la Huerta kept mum throughout her time in court. The Indie movie star, wore a long black coat and a white pantsuit over a turtleneck. She was released without bail.

"We're asking people not to rush to judgment and to let (de la Huerta) have her day in court," defense lawyer Jamel Oeser-Sweat said.

Swetra's attorney didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Authorities say in a court complaint, that De la Huerta punched Swetra in the face, giving her a bloody nose, and hurled a glass that left cuts in Swetra's leg around 4 a.m. on March 20 at the Standard Hotel.

Then de la Huerta, who plays a lead character's girlfriend in the HBO series set in a Jazz Age Atlantic City, swiped at Swetra with cutting remarks made to police, the complaint said.

"I'm a real actress — HBO. She's a publicity-seeker, a fake actress," de la Huerta said, according to prosecutors.

De la Huerta plays politician Enoch "Nucky" Thompson's hot-tempered girlfriend, Lucy Danziger, on the popular "Boardwalk Empire."

An actress since childhood, the 26-year-old de la Huerta has appeared in films including "The Cider House Rules," "A Walk to Remember" and "The Limits of Control."
