Nina Dobrev is saying goodbye to “The Vampire Diaries” after six years and she sounds a little wistful about leaving the CW series.
“I’ve loved working on this show,” she told Self magazine. “It’s been such a crazy, awesome adventure and I’ve been surrounded by so many people who I consider family. I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it’s going to be so strange not to be with them.”
The 26-year-old actress has strong ideas on what her final scenes look like: “It’s important for me that it be epic and powerful. I feel like I’m a completely different person than I was and I’ve grown so much. It’s been a big part of my life, and I want it to be beautiful. I want it to end well.”

And Dobrev is planning on chilling out after that with a cross-country road trip with friends.
“There are no hotel reservations, no real plans. Just six people, three vehicles, two in each car,” she explained to Self, in-stands May 26.
The Bulgarian born actress who grew up in Canada doesn’t sound worried about tackling new roles.
