Natalie Morales reportedly wants out of ‘Today Show’

“Today” co-host Natalie Morales reportedly wants to leave the NBC morning show because of ongoing tension behind the scenes.
Sources told the NY Post that Morales has been looking for other TV roles amid a power struggle with host Tamron Hall and NBC News chief Deborah Turness.
“There’s a lot of tension,” the source said. “Natalie and Tamron are competitive, and there was a big blow up in October between the two. Deborah has an issue with Natalie and has sided with Tamron. There has been zero communication between Deborah and Natalie for a long period of time. It’s the talk of NBC staff.”

Morales has been in “Today” since 2006, first as a national correspondent and then as the third-hour co-host. She has been passed over for the top anchor job several times and Turness reportedly wants to promote Hall for a bigger role – angering Morales who has patiently waited for a larger role on the morning show, Page Six says.
But “Today” executive producer Don Nash said in a statement that reports of Morales wanting to leave are “total nonsense.”
“As the ‘Today’ show continues to gain momentum, it sounds like someone is trying to stir up trouble that doesn’t exist,” he said. “Natalie Morales is valued by everyone at the news division from the top down, and her future is with the ‘Today’ show and NBC News.”
