Austin City Limits and Made in America music festivals canceled due to coronavirus concerns
They will both resume in 2021
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Not one, but two upcoming music festivals have been canceled due to concerns over safety because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Austin City Limits in Texas and Jay-Z's Made in America festival in Philadelphia won't take place this year.
In a statement Wednesday, the rap mogul’s Roc Nation company said it plans to produce the popular festival in 2021.

“2020 is a year like no other. We are in a pivotal time in this nation’s history. Collectively, we are fighting parallel pandemics, COVID-19, systematic racism and police brutality. Now is the time to protect the health of our artists, fans, partners and community as well as focus on our support for organizations and individuals fighting for social justice and equality in our country. Therefore, the Made In America festival will be rescheduled for Labor Day Weekend 2021,” Roc Nation said in a statement.

This year’s Made in America festival was set to take place Sept. 5 and 6 at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Austin City Limits' organizers also said in a statement Wednesday that scrapping the three-day October event was “the only responsible solution.”
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The announcement comes amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in Texas, with the state reporting another daily high Tuesday of 7,000 new confirmed cases and Gov. Greg Abbott urging people to stay home.

The festival is one of the largest in the country each year. A lineup had not been announced, but last year's headliners included Guns N' Roses, Cardi B, Billie Eilish and The Cure.
The Coachella music festival in California and Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee will also not take place this year.

The cancellation is another big loss for Austin's tourism economy. The city's South By Southwest festival, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, was canceled in March as the virus first began to spread in Texas.
