Step aside Pitbull, J.Lo is taking over the American Music Awards.

In what will be her first time ever hosting an award show, Jennifer Lopez has taken on the emcee and performance duties at this year’s AMA event on Nov. 22, producers with Dick Clark productions announced Wednesday.

“From my first @TheAMAs nomination 15 years ago to HOSTING the 2015 #AMAs! It's going down 11/22 on ABC!! #AMAsJLo” the singer-actress tweeted Wednesday morning with several photos from past shows.

Producers said the 46-year-old “American Idol” judge will also perform material from her upcoming Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Pitbull hosted the 2013 and 2014 AMAs and, while fun and entertaining, Mr. Worldwide's presence on stage and his Latino-themed jokes were a point of controversy by some of the millions of viewers.

Singers Joe Jonas and Charlie Puth are set to announce AMA nominees on Oct. 13, which are chosen based on album sales, radio airplay, touring and social media.

The show recognizes artists with fan-voted awards in such categories as pop/rock, rap/hip-hop, country, Latin and adult contemporary.

The American Music Awards will air live on Nov. 22 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
