Merle Haggard has postponed several of tour dates after coming down with a case of pneumonia, according to his Facebook page.

The artists team posted an announcement the afternoon of Dec. 3 to share the news, noting that Haggard’s shows in Palm Desert, Riverside, Oakland and Wendover have been postponed due to the illness. The icon has checked into a hospital in California for treatment and hopes to be able to continue his road run with dates the following week.

The Dec. 2 show in Palm Desert has already been rescheduled for Feb. 8, 2016, according to the Press Enterprise. No additional information has been released, but Haggard's son Ben shared the original post on his profile to help spread the word. He is currently touring as the lead guitarist on his father's tour.

Haggard recently made a surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in October for its 90th birthday celebration, performing several of his hits. The legend played "Big City," "Silver Wings," "I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink," and "The Fightin' Side of Me." He also released an album with Willie Nelson earlier this year titled "Django and Jimmie," and toured the record with the fellow country icon in October.
