Mariah Carey has been hospitalized in New York City after becoming ill in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to reports.

The 45-year-old singer is said to be suffering from a bout of severe flu and has been hooked up to an IV pumping her with fluids in vitamins, TMZ reported.

The gossip site said the songstress was dehydrated and ill after feeling sick following her appearance at Pier 1 in Manhattan on Tuesday evening.

Fox News Latino reached out to Carey's rep for comment.

The singer is expected to make a steady recovery and should be released sometime late Wednesday.

Carey is slated to appear at a special holiday concert in New Jersey on Saturday, but those plans remain up in the air after her hospital visit.

While she has not commented on her illness, the singer took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to share how festive she was feeling for the holidays.

"Went to the pier1popup party, now I'm feeling festive and ready to decorate,” she wrote.
