Alicia Goranson began Roseanne at 14, starring as oldest child, Becky Conner. Her character eventually ran away with a biker, living in a trailer park. (AP)
Alicia Goranson, 34, appears at the TV Land Awards in 2008. Due to scheduling conflicts in college, Alicia left the show after the fifth season, replaced by Sarah Chalke. Alicia did return for two more seasons but then left again before the final one.
Sara Gilbert played Darlene Conner, middle child for Roseanne and Dan. Much like the real-life Sara, the character was a sarcastic tomboy who became artistic and vegetarian. Sara first starred on Roseanne at 13, and is shown here at 19. (AP)
