Madonna's Material Girl Collection for Macy's

Madonna has teamed up with her young daughter to design a line of teen clothes exclusively for Macy's. Fox411 talked to celebrity stylist and author of "The Shopping Diet" Phillip Bloch, who gave a full review of several looks in the collection. Click through to read his expert opinion.

Mother and daughter designing duo Madonna and Lourdes (aka Lola) take a break during a photoshoot for the Material Girl collection.

"This totally threw me off," Bloch said. "I love a good flannel but it has nothing to do with the rest of the collection and it's not very on-trend right now. It doesn't seem very 'now' to me. Besides who goes to a designer to buy a flannel shirt like that. You go to a local army-navy store where you can authentic for a better price."

"The fake fur is cute and very PC," Bloch said. "It's nicely styled with the good pieces. But there are no outfits here, just pieces."

"This is probably my favorite 'look' from the collection," Bloch said. "I love the jacket. The look feels edgy and fashion-forward."

"This look seems like it is made for the rich girl who wants to come off like she is edgy but she is really not," Bloch said. "Maybe that's where the Taylor Momsen/Gossip Girl thing comes in. Plus that's way too much makeup for the target audience to be wearing."

"I like the skirt enough, but it doesn't feel new. It feels like Betsey Johnson a few years ago. The pieces are good enough but I wouldn't put them together like that."

"I think Madonna should have done more eighties looks, which are very in right now and worked with her image at the height of her fame."

"This is one of my favorite pieces in the collection. I love a good leather jacket. It's a little saint, a little sinner. This look says the most "Madonna" to me. Although not those shoes, they don't go with the rest of the outfit."
