Puerto Rican actor Luis Guzmán takes quite the escapade in his new film, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" out in theaters this Friday.
Joined by popular actors Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and former Disney starlet Vanessa Hudgens, Guzmán says he really enjoyed the role of Gabato.
"It is a family movie and it is fantastic!" Guzmán told FOX News Latino. "Being a father is what helped me get into character. When you are a father you have certain responsibilities of helping your children pursue their dreams."

The actor reassures that parents will "gravitate" to the "dynamic that the stepfather, the children and the uncle," share in the film.
"The movie also has all the special effects," Guzmán said. "It is really good entertainment."
Guzmán, who began acting since the late 70´s and has shared the big screen with superstars such as Denzel Washington, Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino, says he thanks the Latino community and growing up in the Lower East side in New York City, for making him the person he is today.

"I consider myself a Pioneer in (in Hollywood)," Guzmán said. "I encourage Latinos to do their thing. I love representing my community."
"I miss the people that I grew up with," Guzmán added. "Most of them have past away now. The LES (Lower East Side) developed me into a community activist. I saw many die from AIDS, drugs and violence."
For Guzmán the key to making it in Hollywood has been his reputation.
