Long locks vs. short cuts

Rihanna: Better Long The singer changes her hairstyle just about as often as she changes her clothes. From short to long to blonde to black, RiRi loves to switch it up. On Wednesday, she displayed a shorter pixie cut with short bangs. She certainly has the gorgeous face to pull it off, but the jury is still out on this cut. We had just found ourselves getting used to her longer look. Check out these other stars and decide whether they look better long or short. Click here for more Rihanna photos from X17 Online. (X17 Online)

Anne Hathaway: Better Long The engaged actress was asked to cut her hair and lose weight for her current role in "Les Miserables." We prefer it a little longer, but she has beautiful features, so either look works for the petite actress. But, alas, not all stars are that lucky. For more pics of Anne, go to x17online.com.

Jennifer Aniston: Better Long As Rachel Green on "Friends" Jennifer Anistion set the standards for trendy hair for years. Whether long or short, she looks great in whichever style moves her. But we can't help but love her with her signature long, California-girl locks. (Reuters)

Justin Beiber: Better Short Justin became famous for his long shaggy 'do, but now that he's been on the scene for awhile, we prefer the shorter, more mature look... Minus the crazy eyes, of course. (Reuters)

Matt Damon: Better Short For the "Bourne" trilogy Matt often kept his hair short and tidy, but some roles call for a longer more mature look. We like it spiky. (Reuters)

Gwyneth Paltrow: Better Long Gwyneth's sleek golden locks look best long. (Reuters)

Emma Watson: Better Long The "Harry Potter" cutie looks much older in her cropped 'do. It looks more playful and age appropriate when it's long. (Reuters)

Jessica Alba: Better Short The gorgeous actress has such a tiny frame and features that she gets drowned out in long hair. The short sleek look is perfect on her.

Michelle Williams: Better Short The "Blue Valentine" star has one of those faces that is better served with less hair getting in the way.

Ashlee Simpson: Better Long Is there no in between for this petite songstress? Ashlee either goes for dramatic dark lengths or a short bleached 'do. A softer color with the longer locks would be best. (www.x17online.com)

Katie Holmes: Better Long Mrs. Cruise is a real testament to the power of hair extensions. Katie, who has been looking increasingly tired and old lately, showed up for the Japan premiere of Valkyrie looking young, radiant, and like her former self again thanks to some faux locks. (AP )

Sarah Jessica Parker: Better Long Longer locks are the way to go for Sarah Jessica Parker, whose features looked overly harsh against her bob 'do. (AP )

Paris Hilton: Better Long To disguise her bird-like features, Paris Hilton needs to abandon the soccer-mom hair-do's and should always keep some extensions on hand. (AP )

Cameron Diaz: Better Short A short bob is the way to go for Cameron and really flatters her exotic facial features. (AP )

Jessica Simpson: Better Long Jessica Simpson needs to stay true to her Texas roots when it comes to her locks by keeping that big hair big! (AP )

Halle Berry: Better Short Due to her ridiculously gorgeous face, Halle Berry is one of the few women who can successfully pull off a super short 'do. (AP )

Britney Spears: Tie Whether she has short hair, long hair, or hair in between, we're happy as long as Britney is healthy and smiling. And not bald. (AP )

Victoria Beckham: Better Short A fierce, edgy short style goes perfectly with Victoria's overall fierceness. (AP )

Keira Knightley: Better Long Keira Knightley is gorgeous no matter what, but that short pixie cut was just disastrous. (AP )
