Paris was born into fame and fortune as the heir of hotel tycoon, Conrad Hilton. The cute blonde started out modeling as a kid and as a teen the heiress hit the party circuits in New York City and Los Angeles. She was friends with several other socialites including Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian. In 2003, the party girl starred on "The Simple Life" with Richie. The show, combined with a leaked sex tape of the star and Rick Salomon, made the petite blonde a household name. (AP)
Lindsay Lohan was also born in New York City and started her career as a child model. When she was 11 she starred in "The Parent Trap" and then left Hollywood to have a normal life in New York. In 2003 - the same year that Paris shot to fame for different reasons - LiLo appeared in the teen comedy "Freaky Friday" and made a name for herself in Hollywood. (Reuters)

Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, have stood by their daughter through it all. Not all parents are this understanding after several arrests and a sex tape scandal. "She's eccentric, she's herself and she never hurts anybody," Kathy Hilton has said about her oldest daughter. In Sept. 2006 the blonde star was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Her license was subsequently suspended and she got three years probation. Then in early 2007, she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and got off easy by signing a document acknowledging that she was not permitted to drive. She must have forgotten - or had a blonde moment - because on Feb. 27, 2007 the "Simple Life" star was pulled over for speeding. Prosecutors charged her with violating the terms of her probation and she was later sentenced to 45 days in jail. Cops also found cocaine on the scene. Less than two months later, after a stint in rehab, Lindsay was arrested again for DUI. On Aug. 23, 2007, LiLo pleaded guilty to cocaine use and driving under the influence and was sentenced to one day in jail and three years probation. She only served 84 minutes behind bars. In May, the troubled actress was scheduled to appear in court for a progress report, but she failed to appear. At her rescheduled hearing on July 6, she was sentenced to 90 days in jail which are slated to begin by July 20. (AP)
