Leah Remini and Paul Haggis: Scientology has punishment center

Leah Remini and Paul Haggis, two former Scientologists, left no stone unturned during their Barnes & Noble Q&A in New York City on Wednesday.

The discussion banned cameras and any recording devices, but according to E! News, there were several revelations made by the “Troublemaker” author and the director.

First, practicing yoga was not allowed. Remini, 45, explained the church feared “it would mix the practices of the religion.”

Haggis, 62, who left Scientology in 2009, confirmed rumors of a jail. He said he knows of one punishment center called the RPF, for Rehabilitation Project Force. The sheer mention of the facility made Remini laugh, adds the site.

A spokesman for the church responded to Remini and Haggis’ comments by saying, “The statements by Leah Remini and Paul Haggis are false.”

They also claimed Haggis has “never been” to a jail, adding: “He would not be in a position to ‘confirm’ anything because there isn’t one and he has never seen one.”

Haggis said there are many celebrities who have quit the church who few even knew were practicing Scientologists. He declined to name any other former members.

The “King of Queens” alumna appeared on ABC’s “20/20” on Friday to discuss her decision to leave the church after more than 30 years and her interactions with Tom Cruise and his former wife, Katie Holmes.
