Marc Anthony will be inducted into Billboard’s Hall of Fame during Billboard’s Latin music awards, entertainment site TVNotas is reporting.

The salsa icon is set to put on an over-the-top performance Thursday evening. According to TV Notas, the Puerto Rican singer is receiving the distinct honor for his global influence as a performer in both the English and Spanish language markets.

Other notable Latinos that have received this honor include Vicente Fernández and the late Celia Cruz.

The entertainment publication added that other celebs will be performing in Marc Anthony’s honor.

Recently Anthony announced his new tour with Latin stars Chayanne and Marco Antonio Solis.

The tour, called “Gigant3s” (the word in Spanish for giant) will run for 14 dates across the U.S. and will culminate in Las Vegas.

Cardenas Marketing Network is producing it.

Anthony is best known in the U.S. market not just for his popular salsa music but also for his ex, Jennifer Lopez.

Their hit reality music show "Q'Viva! The Chosen" on Univision was picked up for English audiences by Fox. It features competing artists from across Latin America.

Last year Anthony said he wished he had done “Q’Viva! The Chosen” sooner.

“We don’t know what’s out there,” he said. “We made a pact to go on this journey to uncover the world’s most extraordinary talent.”

It will be challenging, but nothing great is easy,” he added. “It can be anything as long as it transcends language and this person was born to make you feel.”

Lopez agreed, saying it is one of the most exciting projects she has ever done.
