Country star Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs lead anything but ordinary lives. The “American Idol” alum and her Nashville songwriter husband are now putting their personal lives on display in the new CMT reality show “I Love Kellie Pickler.”

"Well, for us it felt like the right thing at the right time," Pickler told FOX411 Country. "And we really get to show the world some of our silly crazy fun friends that we consider to be family."

Pickler's best friend Andi Zack-Johnson and her husband Ken Johnson also appear on the CMT show. Pickler's husband explained it's up to him and Ken most of the time to bail the girls out of trouble, sort of like Ricky Ricardo's character on "I Love Lucy."

"I've always been a huge fan, and who isn't a huge fan of Lucille Ball, and I'm no Lucy, there's only one Lucy," Pickler explained. "But yeah I loved 'I Love Lucy' and I loved 'Friends' and we kind of married the two together, I guess you could say."

Jacobs added, "The whole 'I Love Lucy' thing is kind of like, you know, she's Lucy-ish and I'm Ricky-ish."

Pickler laughed, admitting, "Well, I get myself in some crazy little shenanigans!" Jacobs agreed saying, "And I gotta get her out."

Shenanigans aside, Jacobs said he is looking forward to fans seeing a different side to his life with Pickler.

"Thing I'm excited about...is just for fans to see how much we love each other and how much we love to laugh and that's just to us, that's what life should be," Jacobs said.

Pickler agreed, promising that viewers weren't be bored by music industry-heavy episodes; The show focuses on their personal lives.

"Obviously there's some music weaved in the show because we're in the music business and Kyle is a songwriter and producer, and I sing my little country songs," she said. "But we kind of thought it would be to shine a light behind the curtain so not every episode is based on touring and the music side because people know that about us. So it's really kind of who we are when we clock out."

Most importantly, the couple shared, the show is about real life.

"I feel like the show...really captures so many sweet moments...of just real people in real situations.
