Karlie Kloss doesn’t let the “complications” of having a fiancé related to the Donald Trump administration get in the way of her actual relationship or beliefs.
Kloss, 26, and Josh Kushner — brother of Jared Kushner, who is married to first daughter Ivanka Trump and served as an adviser to the POTUS — got engaged in July.
“At the end of the day, I’ve had to make decisions based on my own moral compass — forget what the public says, forget social media,” Kloss told Vogue in an interview published Tuesday. “I’ve chosen to be with the man I love despite the complications. It’s frustrating, to be honest, that the spotlight is always shifted away from my career toward my relationship. I don’t think the same happens in conversations with men.”

The supermodel and coding enthusiast Instagrammed about voting for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election cycle, hashtagging the post “#ImWithHer.”
“Josh and I share a lot of the same liberal values that guide our lives and the things we stand for,” she told the magazine. “We’ve really grown together personally and professionally.”
Kloss also shared that her engagement to the 33-year-old venture capitalist took place during a private getaway in upstate New York. She called Kushner’s proposal “romantic and sweet.”

“Josh knows that I’m just a nerdy, curious human being,” she said. “I think that’s why he loves me. We have each other’s back.”
