Kanye West settles with paparazzo, offers apology and a handshake

An apology and a handshake go a long way to settle a dispute.
Kanye West learned that lesson when he offered both to paparazzo Daniel Ramos as part of a lawsuit settlement between the two.
Ramos, a Los Angeles-based photographer sued the rapper after a 2013 attack outside a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport. The case was set to go to trial last week, but Ramos’ attorney Gloria Allred said in a statement the case has been settled and West has apologized.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}She sent a photo of a smiling West as he shook Ramos’ hand.
Details of the settlement itself will not be released, Allred said in her statement, but that the apology was a major component.

The original incident unfolded when Ramos repeatedly questioned the rapper as he exited the airport nearly two years ago. While West made it clear he did not want to talk, the paparazzo persisted, and West eventually lunged at him and his camera.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Ramos claimed West punched him and wrestled his camera to the ground. The attack was caught on camera.
In the ensuring criminal case, the rapper, 37, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and remains on probation.
West's attorney Shawn Holley did not immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}“We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question,” Allred wrote in a statement.
