Despite having plenty of time to practice her wedding day sentiments to retired NFL player Eric Johnson, Jessica Simpson reportedly flubbed her vows at their Saturday wedding.
After a four-year engagement, the couple finally wed at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California with her father Joe presiding over the ceremony. The 33-year-old bride got so flustered that when she began saying her vows she said her own name instead of the groom's, E! reported. Luckily the reality star laughed it off and began again.
And Simpson wasn't the only one who struggled with the vows. E! added when the 34-year-old groom began reciting his vows, he got so choked up that he also had to start again.
Over 250 guests were at the wedding including Jessica Alba, Donald Faison and Topher Grace, the site reported.
The couple’s 1-year-old son Ace served as ring bearer and their 2-year-old daughter Maxwell, walked down the aisle as a flower girl. She was accompanied by Jessica’s nephew, 5-year-old Bronx Wentz, son of Ashlee Simpson.
After exchanging vows the newlyweds released a statement to People, “We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment. To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."
Simpson and Johnson began dating in 2010. It is the second marriage for both Simpson and Johnson. Simpson was previously married to singer Nick Lachey. The two co-starred on a VH1 reality series "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" for three seasons. Shortly after their third wedding anniversary, the two split up.
