'House of Cards' Actress Kate Mara Misses Emmy Nominations

Despite her Netflix series "House of Cards" earning a nomination for Best Drama Series at the upcoming Emmy Awards, actress Kate Mara is not having such a great day. The 30-year-old starlet was actually scheduled to announce those nominations in Los Angeles along with two-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Paul of "Breaking Bad," but her flight from New Mexico was grounded due to mechanical trouble. Neil Patrick Harris filled in for Mara at the last minute. ("Special thanks to Kate Mara for getting me out of the house before my children wake me up screaming and crying," joked the "How I Met Your Mother" actor.) Jimmy Kimmel stepped in — wearing his pajamas — to announce the Emmy nominees alongside Kerry Washington. But seeing as we missed out on Kate Mara, we felt it was only fair to give her some love.
