Hot or Not: 2011 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

At last night's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Gala, Hollywood and fashions biggest names celebrated the work of Alexander McQueen. But while some stars paid tribute to the late designer by looking absolutely fabulous, others stepped out looking like the stars of a fashion horror film. (L to R: Taylor Swift, Serena Williams and Jennifer Lopez - AP)

Not: Christina Ricci The beautiful actress hit a low note when she decided to go as the love child of Elivra and Spider-Man.

Hot: Ashley Greene The "Twilight" star brought the glamour in this stunning gown. (AP)

Not: Beyonce Husband Jay-Z looked dapper in his white tux, but Beyonce's sequin-detailed gown looks like it made walking, sitting, breathing and all of life's other basic functions impossible.

Not: Lucy Liu Because who DOESN'T want feathered embellishments at their chest and hips ...

Hot: Jessica Alba and Cash Warren Jessica Alba was the picture of a glowing mom-to-be in her gorgeous gold gown.

Hot: Taylor Swift It's a little more vampy than we're used to seeing country cutie Taylor Swift on the red carpet, but the stunning star looks as regal as ever. (AP)

Not: Serena Williams Oh, where to begin. It's nice to see Serena Williams in a dress that isn't so tight that she can't breathe, but this marshmallow, feathered, Ice Capades confection is just a little too hard for us to swallow. (AP)

Hot: Madonna The pop queen looked better than ever in a retro satin gown and beautiful hair and makeup. (AP)

Not: Jennifer Lopez Her style usually hits it out of the park, but we just couldn't get down with J.Lo's fake-flower shrug. Even though it probably cost more than most of us make in months. (AP)

Not: Freida Pinto If Pinto's beauty couldn't stop this dress from still looking ridiculous, there's just no hope for it. (AP)

Hot: Gisele and Tom Brady You know you're hot when your look is so stunning that it makes us almost forget about Tom Brady's hair crisis. Almost. (AP)

Not: Demi Moore The costume gala may have been honoring McQueen, but Demi looks like she is mourning Big Bird. (AP)

Hot: Salma Hayek The actress married into fashion royalty and looks every bit the part of the red carpet queen. (AP)

Not: Naomi Campbell For those who think Karma doesn't come back for all of Campbell's infamous outbursts, this dress just proved you wrong. (AP)

Not: Christina Hendricks The "Mad Men" actress' busy ombre gown was a poor choice to show off those world-famous curves. (AP)

Not: Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom She may be a new mom, but the supermodel looked like she was channeling her inner child in this slightly ridiculous ballerina gown. (AP2011)

Hot: Eva Mendes The sexy star hit a high note in a pleated royal blue gown and gold belt. (AP)

Not: Iman The former model turned TV star and designer may have a fantastic figure, but that gold jumpsuit isn't doing it any favors. (AP)

Not: Blake Lively There's no doubt that the "Gossip Girl" actress is stunning, but we can't say the same about her dress. (AP) (AP2011)

Hot: Claire Danes Danes sizzled in a gold form-fitted gown that fits her signature minimalist style. (AP) (AP2011)

Hot: Carmelo Anthony and Lala Vasquez The NBA star and his reality star wife looked like the portrait of a glamorous power couple. (AP)

Not: Jennifer Hudson The dress itself is gorgeous and would have been a "hot" choice but for the fact that Hudson's clothes never seem to fit her properly in the chest area. The Oscar-winner is in desperate need of a new tailor. (AP)
