The future of TLC’s hit reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is up in the air after reports surfaced that June Shannon, aka “Mama June,” is dating a convicted sex offender who served time for child molestation.
TMZ reports that Shannon has rekindled her romance with Mark McDaniel, who reportedly went to jail for molesting a child in Shannon’s family when they were dating years earlier.
TLC told FOX411 the alleged relationship has left the future the series in limbo. The show follows Shannon’s 9-year-old daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, a beauty pageant winner.

"TLC is not in production on ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,’” a rep for the network said. “We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series."
McDaniel, who is in his early 50s, was convicted on May 20, 2004 of aggravated child molestation. He registered as a sex offender in March 2014.
Back in September, Shannon split from Honey Boo Boo’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson. The two were never technically married, but they exchanged vows back in may in front of Boo Boo and her three sisters.

When they split, they released a statement explaining they were unsure about the future of their relationship.
"Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship," the TV stars said in a statement. "We are taking things day by day, but regardless of what happens, the girls will always be our number one priority. We want to thank y'all for your support."
The production company behind “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” Authentic Entertainment LLC, did not immediately return FOX411’s request for comment.
