Hollywood's Hugo Chavez "'Chav' Pack"

Having directed the documentary "South of the Border" on the America-hating dictator, Oliver Stone is the Hugo Chavez 'Chav' Pack chairman of the board. Nothing gets done without Stone's approval, and the other 'Chav' pack members secretly detest his bullying and spotlight addiction. (Reuters)

"Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf was at the after party for the New York screening of Oliver Stone's Hugo Chavez documentary "South of the Border," the NY Post reported. In the 'Chav' Pack, he's like the Rat Pack's Peter Lawford, in that he's a lot more attractive than the others, who have all seen better days, to put it mildly. (AP)

Sean Penn started the Hugo Chavez/Hollywood love fest in 2007 when he visited Venezuela and befriended the leftist dictator. In the 'Chav' Pack, he's like the Rat Pack's Dean Martin - a founding member with a similar hangdog look. (But Martin's was much more appealing as it was all part of his act. Penn really looks like that.) (AP)

Susan Sarandon feted the South American dictator in New York following the Stone documentary screening. She is the 'Chav' Pack's Norman Fell, because she kind of looks like him. (Yes, that Norman Fell. Television's "Mr. Roper." He was in the Rat Pack for a brief stint in the 1960s. It's true.) (AP)

Lefty activist Harry Belafonte, who has broken bread with Chavez in the past, according to reports, is the 'Chav' Pack's Sammy Davis, Jr., close to the boss (Oliver Stone), but also with an independent streak. (AP)

Courtney Love was photographed holding hands with Chavez in New York Wednesday night. New to the 'Chav' Pack, she's akin to Liza Minelli, who joined the Rat Pack in its waning hours. (AP)

Danny Glover was with Shia LaBeouf at the the Chavez documentary after party in New York, according to the NY Post. Hardly a 'Chav' Pack stalwart, he's more of an on-again, off-again member, kind of like the Rat Pack's Juliet Prowse. (AP)
