Hollywood careers that went from white hot to lukewarm.

  • Gary Busey Bubble 640
Gary Busey Busey was nominated for an Oscar for "The Buddy Holly Story" in 1978. Then he became best known for his substance abuse issues.  Now he is best know for his stints on "Celebrity Rehab" and "Celebrity Apprentice."  In 2011 he was dumped from the movie "Mansion of Blood" after it had started filming. In 2012 he filed for bankruptcy, citing among his personal possessions five pair of moccasins. Not good. For more pics of Gary, go to x17online.com.

Star Jones The lawyer became a household name after co-hosting "The View" for almost ten years. Leaving the show in a huff in 2006 probably wasn't the smartest move, as her most memorable job since was as a contestant on the fourth season of "Celebrity Apprentice."  (Reuters)

Tara Reid The "American Pie" cutie should have followed the career path of "Pie" co-star Alyson Hannigan, who now stars on the hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." Instead, Reid became notorious for her partying and plastic surgery disasters. She appeared in the "Pie" reunion movie in 2012, but so far, that's about it. Sharon Stone After a string of minor roles, Stone hit the big time with "Basic Instinct" in 1992. She was never able to follow up the film's incredible success, however, and her career eventually chilled. Most recently, she completed a four-episode arc on "Law and Order: SVU" and starred in a French film. Yes, a French film. (Reuters)

Meg Ryan Before Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon, Meg Ryan was the go-to blonde for romantic comedies, with megahits including "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail." Unfortunately, Ryan became better known for her overstuffed lips, and her most recent notable role was in "The Women" in 2008, for which she was nominated for a Razzie for worst actress. Ouch.

Seann William Scott The 34-year-old star seemed like he was going to make it big after playing Stifler in "American Pie" in 1999.  With a movie career that never quite took off (aside from his voicing of Crash in the 'Ice Age' animated movies), the biggest thing he has going for him now is 2012's "American Reunion," which did okay, but not great.
