Gisele Bündchen has not been shy about sharing intimate photos of her family and children with her thousands of followers on Instagram and Twitter.
Now she is earning praise for not being shy to share a photo of her breast-feeding.
The Brazilian model and wife of NFL star Tom Brady posted the remarkable photo on Instagram on Tuesday with the caption:
“What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #multitasking#gettingready.”
The photo shows her nursing daughter Vivian Blake as she gets her nails, makeup and hair done by three different people. Bundchen also translated the caption into Portuguese.
The 33-year-old model is sitting back on the chair wearing a fluffy white bathrobe with her eyes closed, while her 12-month-old daughter plays with her necklace.
Comments on Bundchen’s Twitter and Instagram pages include praise for her being “a great example of (a) working girl and mother,” and a “thank you for normalizing breast-feeding.” Another person wrote: “breast-feeding your daughter at work, what a beautiful, natural thing to do.”
The supermodel has been outspoken about breast-feeding in the past. Back in August 2010, after the birth of her first child, Benjamin, she caused quite a stir when she told Harper’s Bazaar UK that “breast-feeding really helped” her get her figure back.
“Some people here think they don’t have to breast-feed, and I think, ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child, when they are so little?,’” Bundchen said. “There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breast-feed their babies for six months.”
Consequently, she had to clarify her comments, saying she is “not here to judge.”
“I believe that bringing a life into this world is the single most important thing a person can undertake and it can also be the most challenging,” the model continued on her blog. “I think as mothers we are all just trying our best.”
