Gorgeous “Gilmore Girl” Lauren Graham turns heads these days, but she struggled with her appearance as a kid.
Graham opened up to FOX411 at the premiere of her newest film, “Middle School.”
She said her own middle school days were far from glamorous.

“They were terrible. We moved in 8th grade, so 7th grade I was doing okay and then 8th grade everything fell apart,” she said with a chuckle. “I had no fashion sense to speak of. We only had a couple of hair care products back then. We didn't have all these things to tame your hair. I had glasses; I had braces; I had it all.”
The 49-year-old said she was excited to sign on for the feel-good family film.
“As I have been in this business longer, something I look for is something that is positive and happy,” she said. “Not every story can be, but I think there is so much stressful stuff going on, I liked the message of the movie. I liked it was based on a series of books. I get concerned when I see kids on their phones. They don't read enough anymore, anything longer than a tweet. Anything to support books is something I’m proud of.”

Meanwhile, “Gilmore Girls” celebrated its 16th anniversary on Wednesday. Graham told FOX411 returning to Stars Hollow is a dream come true.
“It’s completely still surprising to me, especially here talking about middle school, because I remember those years so well and I never could have dreamed that I would get to do not only what I wanted to do but also get to return to that character again is a dream come true.”
Ahead of the “Gilmore Girls” reboot on Netflix, the streaming service turned more than 200 coffeehouses around the U.S. into Luke’s Dinner.
