Avid car enthusiast Frankie Muniz will make do with one less vehicle in his possession.
The former “Malcolm in the Middle” actor is set to sell the memorable white Volkswagen Jetta that was famously used in the 2001 hit film “The Fast and the Furious.” Adding to its value, the 1995 car is also signed by the film’s star, the late Paul Walker, as well as actor Chad Lindberg (who played Jesse) and director Rob Cohen.
“The car is still like it was when the movie was filmed. The car has made several appearances over the years to help promote the movie franchise,” according to auction website Barrett-Jackson. “The car is set up with custom stereo that incorporates a Playstation 2 inside the car.”
Muniz, who is of Puerto Rican and Italian descent, reportedly purchased the car when he was 16. Today he is 30.
In an interview with the Toronto Star in 2007, Muniz said the “The Fast and Furious” car was the first car of his collection – which he learned how to drive in.
“Yeah, I owned the car first, before I learned to drive. But I got a Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo and that was the first car I learned how to drive a stick in,” he said.
