Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks were inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on October 16 during the organization’s 41st Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony.
The event included performances by fellow stars of some of their biggest hits. “The greatest award in the music business is to be called a songwriter,” Brooks said.

On January 27, Grammy winning trio Lady Antebellum starts their “Own the Night 2012 World Tour,” named after their third album, which broke records debuting at the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top 200 and becoming the biggest first week debut by a country artist this year.
Sixteen-year-old Georgia native and "American Idol" season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina tells Fox 411 Country she has yet to find out who she’ll be hitting the road with, but she’s already making her big introduction onto the scene with her debut album “Wildflower.” It hit No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Album Chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200, making it the best-selling female country debut since 2006 and the highest country album debut of the week.
"American Idol" Season 9 finalist Casey James also stopped by Fox411 Country. He’s been busy on the road, including doing a run with Sugarland, and he’s working on his debut album. He told us he’s aiming for early next year with that introductory release. In the meantime, he’s sending out a debut single and a debut music video to go along with it, which happens to be our featured song of the week, so click the video above and enjoy.
