Singer FKA Twigs, who is engaged to Robert Pattinson, gave an eyebrow-raising interview in which she said emotional abuse is “kind of sexy.”

She made that along with other controversial remarks while speaking to ES Magazine about her new music video for “Papi Pacify,” in which a man is sticks his fingers down a woman’s throat.

The 28-year-old said her video is “beautiful” and “violent.”

"It's kind of sexy, like emotional abuse can be tender. That's why it's messed up," she said. "If you are in an emotionally abusive relationship, it can be tender, that's why you stay. And you stay because there's a poorly part of your mind that likes it."

She said the scene in the video is symbolic.

"In the relationship I couldn't communicate... So the physical manifestation is someone putting their hand in your mouth. But there's an element, too, of liking that as well... It's addictive."

Some social media users did not respond positively to FKA Twigs' comments.

And one abuse victim told FOX411 this scene in the singer's video seems like domestic violence and is anything but sexy.

"Anything in a committed relationship that is consensual is acceptable, however if one person is forcing something on another person against their will, that is 100 percent unacceptable. This seems like a huge issue that is domestic violence and in my opinion, this is not sexy at all, this is abuse".

Dr. Keith Ablow, Fox News contributor and psychiatrist, said that FKA Twigs' statements, though controversial, aren't unheard of.

“It is no surprise that some women (and some men) find emotionally abusive relationships oddly compelling,” he explained.
