Bearded be-bop crooner Casey Abrams is keeping busy since he was booted off “American Idol.”
The musician surprised guests of the Sarcoma Foundation of America 10th Anniversary Gala when he gave an impromptu performance at Cipriani's in New York City Monday night.
The growling Abrams—who legendary music producer Jimmy Iovine predicted would be voted off “American Idol” because “the family dog does not vote”—sang two songs for the delighted crowd, “Cry me a River” by Ella Fitzgerald and Marvin Gaye’s classic, “Heard it through the Grapevine.”

With Abrams help that night, the Sarcoma Foundation of America raised over one million dollars to help fund research grants to study the rare cancer and pave the way to finding a cure.
