Celebrities at Lynwood Prison

As Lindsay Lohan prepares for her 90-day sentence at the Lynwood Correctional Facility, she should know that the prison knows how to deal with high profile inmates. The starlet, who already spent 84 minutes behind bars there in 2007, joins a substantial list of other celebs who did their time there. (Reuters/AP/AP)

If history is any indication, Lohan won't have to serve her full 90 day sentence at Lynwood.  Several stars who were sent there were released after a very short time - sometimes even hours - due to overcrowding. Lohan is no doubt hoping for the same fate. (AP)

The "Simple Life" star spent 82 minutes behind bars at Lynwood - barely a fraction of her four-day sentence for driving under the influence.  She was pregnant at the time and let out due to "overcrowding in the jail system." (AP) (AP2007)

After driving under the influence in 2006 and then violating the terms of her probation in 2007, the heiress was sentenced to 45 days in jail. Lucky for her, she served less than two days before being reassigned to home confinement for the remainder of her sentence. (AP)

"Pretty Wild" star, Alexis Neiers, began her 180-day sentence on June 25.  The 18-year-old was arrested for playing a part in the "Bling Ring" which was responsible for several high profile burglaries of celebrity homes in 2008 and 2009. (E! Entertainment Television)

The 49-year-old didn't drive drunk or burglarize anyone. Instead, her environmentalist ways got her locked in the slammer.  She was arrested for chaining herself to a tree during a protest in 2006. The star of "Wall Street" later spent "eight or 10 hours in jail," she says. "It was not pleasant - the cell was tiny - but I was not worried about myself... I would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat." (AP)

The "Lost" star spent less than a day of her 60-day sentence in jail in 2006 due to overcrowding.  She was arrested again in 2007 and sentenced to 180 days in prison. Although she was expected to complete this stint at Lynwood, she was released after 18 days - again due to overcrowding.  (Reuters)

After the dissolution of her 17-year marriage to David Hasselhoff, the actress got into some trouble with the law.  She was arrested for two DUIs in 2009 and sentenced to a 90 days in jail in early 2010.  Hasselhoff was released a few hours after arriving to Lynwood and was required to do two weeks of house arrest instead of the original 90 day sentence.  (Reuters)

When Sutherland was sentenced to 48 days in 2007, he chose the "pay to stay" option which is about a dozen smaller jails located around California.  He served his full 48 day sentence in 2007 and 2008 for his drunken driving charge. (AP)
