It’s a sad day for crime drama aficionados -- and for fans of sexy Cuban/Puerto Rican actor Adam Rodríguez who will no longer be on prime time.
The news that “CSI: Miami” has been cancelled by CBS comes just as star Adam Rodríguez’s new film “Magic Mike” is to be released.
"CSI: Miami,” CBS said in a statement on Monday, “leaves an amazing television legacy,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
The main reason why the popular show is coming to an abrupt halt? Ratings, of course.
The LA Times says that in recent seasons, the show had been dealing with large production costs with plummeting ratings.
Nevertheless, CBS saluted what the show has achieved over the past 10 seasons.
“[‘CSI: Miami’ leaves] a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’ rise to the top over the past decade,” the statement said.
For the “CSI” fans there is still hope as the network states they will not be touching “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” or “CSI: NY.”
And fans can get an eyeful of Adam Rodríguez in the theaters. He plays a male stripper in Steven Soderbergh’s film “Magic Mike.”
