Bill Cosby lawyer asked to detail donation, ties to ex-prosecutor

Bill Cosby's lead criminal lawyer in Pennsylvania is fighting a subpoena related to his $2,500 donation to the ex-prosecutor who says he had promised Cosby that he would never be charged.

Lawyer Brian McMonagle says he co-hosted a political fundraiser for Bruce Castor last year but says it took place months before he joined Cosby's defense team.

Castor had declined to charge Cosby when Andrea Constand in 2005 accused the actor of drugging and molesting her.

She has sued Castor for defamation over his comments that she changed her story about the encounter.

She now wants McMonagle to detail his ties to Castor.

McMonagle says his political donation as Castor sought to return as district attorney has nothing to do with Constand's defamation case against him. He has asked a judge to quash the subpoena.
