Biggest Musical Make-Up of All Time?

If Taylor Swift was looking to ditch her goody-two-shoes image at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, she totally failed.

Proving that she truly is America's Sweetheart, the 20-year-old pop-country star appeared to forgive Kanye West for stealing her thunder at last year's VMAs, as she sang a ballad she wrote about the outspoken hip-hop artist:

"It's OK, life is a tough crowd/32 and still growing up now/Who you are is not what you did/You're still an innocent ... You'll have new Septembers/Every one of us has messed up too," she crooned soulfully.

The song, "Innocent," will appear on Swift's new album. Kanye turned 33 in June; he was 32 when he interrupted Swift's VMA acceptance speech last year, saying Beyonce deserved the award that the younger star received.

Kanye also took the opportunity to publicly apologize ... sort of. He performed his new song "Runaway," which calls for a toast for a--holes (among other expletives).

"I always find something wrong; you've been putting up with my [expletive] for too long," he sang.

Yes Kanye, we have.

While the anticipation of some kind of Taylor-Kanye moment was enough to make us watch the two-hour award show, it did fall flat of the big reunion we hoped for.
