Evelyn Lozada’s pregnancy ended in heartbreak.
Just a week after the former “Basketball Wives” star revealed she was pregnant with her third child, Lozada said she ended up miscarrying the baby, as her doctor predicted it might happen because of her low level of hormones.
“I feel like when something tragic like this happens, I’ve always learned that there is something better to come and I guess that’s what I hold onto,” she said on her OWN reality show Livin’ Lozada. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”
The heartbroken Lozada was speaking to her grown-up daughter Shaniece, who had gone to check on her mother.
“I woke up this morning – early, early this morning,” the teary Lozada continued. “It was literally still dark outside – and I started feeling cramping. I knew… the process was starting.”
In last week’s episode, the reality star revealed she and fiancé Carl Crawford were expecting their second child together, but news from her doctor put a dark cloud over a happy moment. She said the doctor explained that due to her low hormone levels, she would probably miscarriage around the 6-week mark.
With the support of family and friends Lozada said she is able to find the strength and peace to what happened. She told her daughter on the show that she is feeling better.
“I’m like, ‘OK, it’s happening. I’ve accepted it. I feel like I can deal.”
On Saturday Lozada tweeted: “Getting the news that my hormone levels dropped was/is devastating! Hardest thing ever! #LivinLozada.”
"Livin' Lozada" airs on OWN on Saturdays.
