Ann Romney to Join Sofia Vergara on ‘Modern Family?’

After Ann Romney, who is married to GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, told The Insider how much she enjoys the show, Steve Levitan, the creator of “Modern Family,” said he would bring her in return for a request of his own, Entertainment magazine US Weekly is reports.
“Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show," Levitan tweeted."We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Levitan was referring to the show’s gay couple, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who adopted a toddler named Lily.
Ann Romney’s role on ABC’s hit show would of course challenge her husband’s opposition to gay marriage.
Earlier this year Mitt Romney, who was the former Gov. of Massachusetts, said he thinks “marriage is between one man and one woman."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}According to Us Weekly, both Ann and Mitt Romney helped raise millions of dollars towards the anti-gay-marriage bill Proposition 8 in California in 2008.
The news of Levitan’s tweet of “Modern Family” comes just as the show’s child star Rico Rodríguez and his fellow cast mates got a boost to their salary after a month-long negotiation to $70,000 per episode, tripling what they currently make.
Last month Vergara and cast members Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Ed O’Neill ended the feud with 20th Century FOX Television after both sides agreed on a salary increase from $65,000 an episode to $170,000. Ed O’Neill, who was earning $100,000 an episode due to his previous fame and experience, also got a salary increase.
