Andy Dick 'cold cocked' outside New Orleans club, hospitalized: report
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Andy Dick, the controversial comedian, was attacked Saturday after a show in New Orleans’ French Quarter, his representatives reportedly said.
Robert Couvillion, his booking agent, told WVUE that his client was outside One-Eyed Jack’s after a show and was “cold-cocked.” He said Dick’s head slammed into the cement. He said Dick was unconscious for about 15 minutes.
“We thought he was dead,” Couvillion said.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The comedian, perhaps best known for his cameos in films like "Road Trip," “Old School” and his own short-lived TV show in 2000, was hospitalized for two days, according to the report.

Dick was released from the hospital and reportedly returned to Los Angeles.

It's unclear what sparked the alleged altercation, but the comedian has a history of outlandish behavior that often stems from his struggles with drugs and alcohol addiction. The 53-year-old actor has been to rehab more than a dozen times and is open about his attempts at sober living.
In 2018 he was charged with sexual battery in Los Angeles after a woman claimed he grabbed her butt twice as he walked past her on the sidewalk and allegedly made lewd comments. The news came months after Dick's wife, Lina Sved, claimed he'd started drinking again and filed a restraining order against him.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}It's unclear if Dick was intoxicated in New Orleans at the time of his alleged assault.
The incident, however, put renewed attention on a 2007 appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in which the comedian seemed to grope Ivanka Trump before being jokingly carried off stage by security.
Dick “was a little out of it,” Kimmel told “Extra” after the incident. “He came out, he wanted a big, wet kiss. It was time for Andy to go, so I escorted him out by his feet.”
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Dick responded to the renewed interest in the clip with a note on Instagram.
"The time I ‘groped’ Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Her legs were sparkling, and I was trying to see if the glitter would wipe off. I also mistakenly thought she would date me. I was jokingly carried off by security. Is anybody going to carry Trump off? No joke. Confusing times,” he wrote.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Despite his legal issues causing a dent in his reputation, Dick stands by his sense of humor. In 2017 he was fired from an independent feature film titled "Raising Buchanan" following accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct on set. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the time, Dick denied the allegations.
"I didn't grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That's my thing — I licked Carrie Fisher at a roast. It's me being funny. I'm not trying to sexually harass people," he told the outlet.
In the same interview, Dick noted that the growing #MeToo movement had forced him to rethink his behavior in public.
