Jan. 20, 2011: Cuban singer Jovany Barreto tries out to be on <i>American Idol </i>in the Louisiana auditions. When dared by a few colleagues to show López his<a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/slideshow/latino/health/2011/02/09/celebrities-stay-shape/#slide=1"> fit physique, </a>Barreto, who sang <a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/slideshow/latino/entertainment/2010/10/06/women-luis-miguel/#slide=1" target="_blank">Luis Miguel's</a> song "Contigo en la distancia," couldn't resist.  "A couple of guys from the shipyard they said 'Look, we bet you a million bucks you won't take that shirt off in front of Jennifer López,'" Barreto said. Jan. 26, 2011: Illinois native <a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/entertainment/2011/03/01/american-idols-chris-medina-words-success-dream-dream-big/" target="_blank">Chris Medina</a>, auditions on <i>American Idol </i>for a chance to make it to Hollywood. Medina dedicated his audition to his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, who suffered a traumatic brain injury two months prior to their wedding day.  (FOX)

Feb. 03, 2011: Mark and Aaron Gutiérrez perform a duet, their rendition of  Bill Withers' 1972 jam "Lean on Me." The Mexican-American brothers wowed the judges, especially Steven Tyler, who called their singing "God-like." Jennifer López said: "It was really beautiful."  (FOX)

March 02, 2011: American Idol contestant Karen Rodríguez <a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/entertainment/2011/03/03/american-idols-karen-rodriguez-brings-latino-essence-12-girls-audition-julie/" target="_blank">sings "Hero" </a>by Mariah Carey in English and Spanish during the 'Top 12 Girls' auditions. "That says it all," said Jennifer López pointing at her goose bumps after Rodríguez's performance.  "I loved that you changed from English to Spanish and showed who you are and what your flavor is," López added.  (FOX)

May 04, 2011: Country singer Scotty McCreery, who has <a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/entertainment/2011/05/05/american-idol-scotty-mccreey-called-true-artist-jennifer-lopez-confirms-puerto/" target="_blank">Puerto Rican roots, </a>introduced his paternal grandmother, who beamed with joy.
