Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz is set to receive an honorary doctor of music degree during a performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

The concert Wednesday night will feature his music as interpreted by college students and faculty. He will join in on some of the songs.

The 44-year-old Spaniard has won 16 Latin Grammy awards and three Grammy awards. His latest album is “La Música No Se Toca.”

Earlier this year, Berklee students created a viral video for the title song from that album in a course taught by Grammy-winning producer and artist Javier Limon. The video featuring more than 60 students and alumni was filmed in Boston and at Berklee's international campus in Valencia, Spain.

Sanz said in a news release that he is honored to receive the degree and will continue to work every day to deserve it.
