Alejandro Sanz has confirmed that he will be performing in Venezuela for his “Paraíso Express” tour.

For years, Sanz was banned from the country after publicly expressing his dislike of President Hugo Chávez.

On twitter, the singing sensation and heartthrob expressed his excitement.

“We are going to Venezuela, thank you God,” wrote Sanz. “I am very excited right now…Thanks to all who made this possible.”

This announcement comes a month after the artist publicly questioned Chávez, again via Twitter.

“President Chávez, I want to go sing to your country… Do you allow me too? Can you give me your word that nothing bad will happen to my fans, or my staff, or the company or me?” asked Sanz.

“If you give me permission and give us your word that nothing will happen I will finish my tour in Venezuela. You have my word.”

It is unclear if Sanz was guaranteed any of his requests.
