Alec Baldwin will be saying ‘I Do’ to his Latina fiancée, Hilaria Thomas, later this month in one of New York City’s most prestigious cathedrals, the New York Post is reporting.
The tabloid says that the “30 Rock” actor will be married at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in Soho, the same cathedral where “The Godfather” scene with Al Pacino and the massacre of the Corleone family’s enemies takes place. The church was built in 1810.
Baldwin, 54, proposed to his 28-year-old yoga instructor girlfriend two months ago.
The dark-haired beauty accepted Baldwin’s proposal while the two were on a romantic weekend getaway.
According to the New York Daily News, the “30 Rock” actor popped the question with a square cut Cartier sparkler that one source described as “huge, very clear, perfect clarity.”
The New York City-based duo met last year and have been smitten with each other ever since.
Baldwin’s fiancée was born in Mallorca, Spain but raised in Boston.
After moving to New York City to study at New York University, Thomas turned her toned physique into a career, opening New York’s Yoga Vida.
Her healthy lifestyle is rubbing off on Baldwin and helping him watch his waistline. After announcing he was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in February, Baldwin has credited Thomas with helping him improve his health.
The couple has received an outpouring of support from family and friends since going public with their engagement.
Baldwin’s brother Stephen told the Daily News, “I knew this was coming and couldn’t be happier for my big brother.”
Even Baldwin’s 16-year-old daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger tweeted her support.
“Love you guys,” Ireland said.
The support from his daughter is important -- the two have had a strained relationship since Baldwin and Basinger’s marital demise.
During the couple’s nasty custody proceedings, Baldwin called his then 11-year-old daughter a “rude, thoughtless little pig" -- he later apologized.
