After two seasons on ABC’s “The View,” Candace Cameron Bure said her life's gotten too hectic for her continue on the morning gabfest.
The co-host announced her exit on Thursday’s show, blaming other work commitments and family considerations for her surprise departure.
"I'm very happy to be back, but it's a little bittersweet for me today because I'm announcing that I'm leaving 'The View,'" she said. "It wasn't an easy decision, but before I started 'The View,' I already had my commitments to 'Fuller House' and my work with the Hallmark Channel."
"Because of the success of those, my commitments have become even greater with those shows and the commute of going West Coast to East Coast every single week for me has been tough on me and hard for my family as well and I want to make sure that I am able to spend as much time with my children and invest in all the projects that I do to the fullest extent."
Candace Cameron Bure: 'I am disappointed in my party'
Bure, 40, said juggling multiple jobs along with a husband and three children was just too much.
"I tried to be Superwoman, but I'm going to not try anymore,” she said.
"The View" sent FOX411 a statement from Executive Producer Candi Carter, stating: "On behalf of everyone at 'The View,' it's been a pleasure working with Candace, a devoted mother, talented actress, and passionate co-host who never hesitated to speak her mind. We are thrilled for her success with 'Fuller House' and her Hallmark movies. She will always be a part of 'The View' family and we will gladly welcome her back to the show to support her with all of her endeavors."
TV pros we talked to said "The View" has been there/done that when it comes to talent upheaval, and one said Bure's replacement might want to be on the more liberal side (Bure is a conservative Christian) so she can go hard after President Trump.
6 things you don't know about Candace Cameron Bure
“The show has survived all kinds of controversies and talent exoduses, and proven surprisingly durable. If anything, the talent shake-up offers ‘The View’ an opportunity to reposition itself for the future," Scott Pinsker, a branding and marketing expert, told FOX411. "With Trump in the White House, the show could be far more interesting than what it would’ve been with Hillary Clinton as president. It’s been claimed that Rush Limbaugh is more compelling when the democrats are in power, so it’ll be intriguing to see if ‘The View’ can be revitalized as well.”
Bure joins a long exit line from the long-running show. In October, Raven-Symone gave her walking papers after comedian Michelle Collins left in June. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Jedediah Bila remain.
Bure's final show date was not announced.
